ICT cooling applications

Cooling Fans for Information and Communications Technology

AC and DC axial fan applications for network switches, telecom cabinets, edge computing hardware, communication power supplies and auxiliary rack ventilation.

Information and Communications TechnologyA server rack, network router and radio tower represent information and communications technology.
Servers, networks & telecommunications

From compact communication modules to larger equipment enclosures, the cooling task is to move air through the real flow path—not simply achieve a free-air rating.

Server rack ventilation conceptA rack contains three computing units. Teal arrows show the concept of intake airflow through equipment toward an exhaust path.IntakeExhaust

Server & Data Center Equipment

Auxiliary ventilation for rack enclosures, server-side airflow paths and control electronics. Check flow direction and pressure at the installed operating point.

Edge gateway and network switch cooling conceptA compact enclosure contains processor and power electronics, with a local cooling fan and a directed airflow path.Electronics · heat sink · local airflow

Edge Computing & Network Devices

Localized airflow for processors, power modules, gateways and optical equipment. Verify fan thickness, inlet clearance and acoustic requirements.

Protected telecom cabinet ventilation conceptA telecom enclosure has a protected inlet and exhaust grille. The illustration identifies the enclosure airflow path, not a fan weatherproof rating.Protected inletExhaust grille

Telecom Cabinets & Power Systems

Enclosure ventilation for communications hardware and power-control electronics. Outdoor installations need an appropriate protection and filtration design.

The illustrations show typical cooling arrangements, not specific customer installations or exact fan mounting designs. Confirm dimensions and equipment requirements for the selected model.

AC and DC model labels follow the supplied brief. Linked product pages use the corresponding JyFan JA and JF series names. For AC12025, review both listed configurations on the linked page.

Match the fan to the enclosure, not just the device label. A larger fan reference may concern the equipment housing or auxiliary ventilation rather than a fan fitted directly inside a compact module. Confirm rack-unit height, mounting space, airflow path and electrical compatibility.

Selection considerations

Specify the operating conditions that matter

Airflow at system pressure

Filters, grilles, heat sinks and cable routing add resistance. Define the required airflow and pressure, then check the fan curve at that operating point.

Read the PQ curve guide →

Mechanical & electrical integration

Confirm the mounting drawing, enclosure clearances, supply voltage, frequency where relevant, starting requirements and cable or connector arrangement.

Control, monitoring & acoustics

Check available PWM, speed feedback or alarm options for the exact variant. Evaluate installed noise and the equipment’s maintenance and redundancy strategy.

Environmental protection

Review ambient temperature, dust, humidity, condensation and corrosion. An outdoor cabinet application does not imply that a standard fan is rated for direct weather exposure; confirm the complete enclosure protection concept.

AC and DC axial fans can support heat dissipation across ICT equipment from compact electronics to larger rack systems. The required airflow, effective pressure and suitable model depend on the full installation.
