AC, DC and EC fans: what to compare.

Compare the power source, motor electronics and required control method. Performance and service life depend on the particular model and operating conditions.

Fair comparisonCompare airflow, pressure, input power and noise at a matched operating point and under the same test conditions.

Which type should you choose?

Start with the supply available in your equipment and the required operating point. Then consider control, noise, space and environmental constraints. A fan type alone does not establish efficiency, durability or suitability.

What belongs in a quotation request?

Include the electrical supply, frame dimensions, required airflow at pressure, quantity and application. If replacing an existing fan, provide the complete model number and its documentation.

Start with your cooling requirements.

Share the size, voltage, airflow, operating conditions and quantity.
